Cursed Sails

Project Name:

Cursed Sails was the first project I worked on at Geekout Studio, and it's maiden voyage was coincidentally the studio's first release. During the month that it was in development, I designed a variety of islands to explore and environmental puzzles for players to solve. The game uses a stylized art style, and islands were able to be rapidly developed and optimized without the use of Roblox's terrain features by clever kitbashing of a small handful of meshes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Level Design and Art Pass for several islands, and worked collaboratively for the final fortress.

  • Greyboxing environments.

  • Designing Puzzles with respect to multiple systems, platforms, and control schemes.

  • Art passes for various islands.

  • Materials (Custom stone wall, grass, and cobblestone).

  • Optimizing environments for mobile performance.
